Humphries Family Chem-Dry was founded in November 2018 with a mission to serve our community through professional carpet, upholstery, tile, and grout cleaning. As a Navy veteran–owned company, we are proud to bring the values of integrity, dedication, and service to every home and business we visit.
Our cleaning process is designed to be:
Cleaner – Chem-Dry’s unique Hot Carbonating Extraction (HCE) process lifts dirt and grime from deep within carpet fibers, without the use of harsh chemicals.
Drier – Our method uses about 80% less water than traditional steam cleaning, which helps carpets dry faster and reduces the risk of mildew growth.
Healthier – By using solutions with no harsh chemicals, our process is gentle for families and pets.
Since opening, our goal has always been to provide excellent service and create long-lasting relationships with our customers. We’re grateful for the trust our community has placed in us and look forward to continuing to deliver high-quality cleaning services for many years to come.
Humphries Family Chem-Dry is locally owned & operated by Frank H. He’s an Atlantan native and United States Navy Veteran. His lifelong dream was to own a business that helps others by providing a cleaning service that will help improve the quality of life. He researched several franchises and when he came across Chem-Dry and its business model, he knew this was what he’d been looking for.
The people at Chem-Dry are so helpful and nice which gave him further confirmation that this is what he’s been looking for for several years. He’s looking forward to continuing to serve the community and be a vital business in Cobb County.

History of the Chem-Dry Brand
Robert Harris started working his way through law school in the 1970’s as a carpet cleaner working for a different carpet cleaning company. He quickly became unsatisfied with the performance of available cleaning products and began researching a better solution. Harris’ research stretched into many years of studying the chemical properties and reactions of a variety of cleaning formulas combined with experimentation that required him to continually clean carpets with a succession of cleaning formulations.The process was similar to how Edison tried a hundred times to build the perfect light bulb before he succeeded.
Eventually, Robert Harris discovered the ideal cleaning formula. His unique carbonated solution delivered exceptional cleaning and was also gentle, but tough on grime. Harris founded Chem-Dry and soon the demand for his superior cleaning services grew exponentially. His entrepreneurial journey blossomed into a thriving success that has continued to grow since those first days in the early 70’s. From the very first small group of franchise locations, the original Chem-Dry network has expanded over recent decades to offer thousands of successful franchises throughout the world, including Humphries Family Chem-Dry based in Marietta, Georgia.
